Montreal the Maffia hub of the world?

I never expected to watch an interview about the Mafia on a Sunday morning, but CBC Sunday report does have some interesting things to report on from time to time.
A former Mafia boss from the New York area was interviewed and he stated that Montreal, Quebec is currently the Mafia Capital.
Organized crime right here in Canada? Yes indeed, but that doesn't surprise me. Why? Canada's police force isn't taking enough action to stop mafia business, and many police officers are corrupt themselves.

Is Canada still a safe country to live in? I think so, but the media always has a way of scaring people.
